The PCA Insurance Committee mission is to provide members with resources to help navigate the ever changing insurance climate that affects all 3800+ Chiropractors in the state.
The committee’s goal is to give you guidance which in turn can provide guidance when you receive inappropriate denials on covered services. The Insurance Committee provides insight on non-covered services and insurance nuances to help keep your practice legal and ethical while dealing with the many health insurance carriers your patients’ may bring to your practice.
Your dues working for you!
The insurance committee meets 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. Your questions are discussed by experienced volunteer doctors in practice, PCAs legal council, executive committee member(s), billing & coding experts and also attended by PCA administrative staff. Together we provide the best researched answers, contacts, SEO web links, guidance & more to serve your needs on an individual basis. Your questions are kept confidential.
The insurance related questions can be sent to pca@pennchiro.org with subject line ‘for insurance committee”. Please note, if your questions arrive between the time of the scheduled meeting, it is discussed during the next committee meeting. If it is truly urgent, you may put ‘Urgent for Insurance Committee’ in the subject and we will make an attempt to get back to you at the earliest time.
In addition to the insurance committee, PCA has insurance working groups (IBC, Highmark, UPMC, Aetna) where we tackle even more challenging insurance issues with direct communication with appropriate carriers, provider relations & their designated representatives. The groups meet 4-6x a year or as needed. If you have the experience, knowledge & desire to make a long term difference in any of the above and would like to give back to make the Pennsylvania scope of Chiropractic better – we need you. Our goal is to have 5 doctors or experts in each working group. PCA committees are made up of only volunteers and we need you on team.
